Bluebonnet Chapter House is an independent bookshop and reading-circle studio on Oliver Street. Every title on our shelves is hand-picked by owner Timothy Lowe and read by at least one person on our team before it ever meets a customer.
We are half bookshop, half quiet room. Members come in for a title on a Tuesday afternoon and stay for a two-hour conversation on the porch. Non-members are always welcome — just ring the bell.

Timothy Lowe opened Bluebonnet Chapter House after twenty-two years teaching English at a Fort Worth independent school. The idea was small: a room where the recommendation still comes from a person who read the book, and where a nine-year-old reader is taken as seriously as a retired professor.
Nine years in, we still hand-write receipts on request, still shelve by mood as often as by genre, and still keep an open jar of lemon drops on the front counter.

We buy carefully selected used hardbacks by appointment on Thursday afternoons. Bring no more than one banker's box per visit, please.
Yes — one step-free entrance from Oliver Street, a wide central aisle, and a companion restroom. Please call ahead if you would like us to hold a chair in the reading room.
We ship anywhere in the continental United States. Domestic media-mail orders are typically $4.50 and take 3–7 days.
